Paulo Elísio de Souza
Mr. de Souza is the founding partner of the Firm. He provides counseling for business transactions, government relations, and is responsible for the Firm’s Portugal Desk (advising Portuguese investors doing business in Brazil). He is a member of the Brazilian Bar Association (Chapter of the State of Rio de Janeiro) and of the Bar of Portugal.
Mr. de Souza acted as general counsel of Brazil’s National Retail Merchant Confederation (Confederação Nacional de Diretores Lojistas, CNDL) for almost twenty years. In such capacity he was responsible for all legal matters concerning the establishment and operation of the Association’s credit rating service (Serviço de Proteção ao Crédito, SPC), the oldest and largest of its kind in Brazil. He also served as a member of the Ethics Commission of the Brazilian Bar Association (Chapter of the State of Rio de Janeiro) and of the Disciplinary Committee of the Brazilian Soccer Confederation (Confederação Brasileira de Futebol, CBF).
